Natwest business card

I had a Natwest business card with £1300 limit, had spent to the limit and was making minimum payments. Due to staff theft etc, was unable to pay it or even make an offer. Now I have received an offensive letter from Newman Debt Collections saying I have 72 HOURS TO PAY and the balance is £1694. Can I put it on hold and request the CCA? Or what can I do? I only got it today and it`s dated Dec 31st.

Thanks

Can you clarify the Staff Theft bit? Have you contacted the police re fraud? If you have a crime reference number then inform the bank of this and that there is a criminal matter ongoing and make them aware of transactions that are fraudulent as well.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Sorry, I meant due to one of my staff robbing me blind in general, I was unable to pay the card. I should have said that in my original post, apologies.
I have 72 hours to pay or it will go to court proceedings.

    Hi Bassett

have you taken the steps outlined by Nattie, above?

If there is a crime reference number and proof of the fraud, the bank may be liable to take a lenient view as there are genuine reasons and it is not a case that you don't want to pay, you are willing.

Morning Orc, there was no crime reference, it was a case of her stealing over time, cash and stock, and us thinking it was the recession and not being able to pay a lot of our bills. She took me to a tribunal, another long thread.....
I want to pay something but not the £394 added charges that there seems to be. I`m thinking of offering them £30 a month, I genuinely can`t afford any more than that.

And a very good morning to you Bassett

In the absence of fraud proof, that avenue is not open.

Bearing in mind I am not an expert on Business charges, the offer of a monthly payment, which you can keep to should be considered and put to the bank/ DCA.

You will need to ensure that you can afford it and can keep to the arrangement.

Hopefully others will also offer advice and comment.
