Corsa water pump

The Ecotec engine cambelts require changes every 4/5years or 40,000 miles.
If it's close you may as well do it. When the cambelt kit (belt, tensioners, pulleys) is changed it's good practice to change the water pump at the same time. The man without a signature.0 -
Hi I was told my 01 plate corsa water pump needs replacing?
any idea how much it'll cost also does the cam belt need replacing at the same time?
thanks
What size engine is the Corsa, 1.0 and 1.2 Litre engines dont have a cambelt, they are chain driven. My lads, 1.0L, went last year and we got change from £100, pump was around £30-£35, an hours labour +VAT. Might be worth changing the drive belt at the same time, maybe another tenner for that.0 -
hi its a 1.2l. thanks i've just been quoted £100 so its seems right thanks all for the replies0

£100 will be just changing the water pump, not doing the timing chain, and will be at main garage/dealer prices.
In all honesty though, you can get that a fair bit cheaper still. £15-£20 on ebay for the appropriate water pump (part number QCP3290), and a local/independant garage should charge you no more than an hour or two's labour, which should be £30-£40 at most.GREENS M'SHIP OFFER NOW CLOSED SO PLEASE DON'T ASK ME!Olympic Debt-free Challenge £2150/£11900 = 18.0%NOW INVESTIGATING AN ALTERNATIVE TO MY IVA - I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ONE ANY MORE!0
