Where's good to stay in Verbier

Hi All,
I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any chalets or apartments in Verbier at all. There will be between 4 and 8 persons going who are mates from uni and so are more interested in being together, in a reasonable location as opposed to it being the most luxurious holiday money can buy - we've all done the whole back packing thing so know we can crash in most places.
We've all managed to get the first week of January off work but are unsure when to head out. Most of the chalets we've seen are being rented out saturday to saturday - 30th through to the 6th, and so are inflated due to it being over the new year.
We were thinking however that some people would want to rent the accomadation up until the Tuesday when most people need to go back to work after the holidays (think Kids start back on the Thursday) and so that perhaps we could have new year in the UK and then get cheaper accomadation heading out on the Tuesday. Unfortunately we cant seem to find any accomadation that lets out from the Tuesday as they seem to use very generic computer packages that do not allow flexibility. Does anyone have any advice on how to proceed?
Thanks for your help in advance!
