Welcome and well done on your "epiphany" :)

What does your £20 telephone cover, internet, phone, mobile?

Normally I could come in and suggest ways of getting telephony bills down but not if £20 covers the lot :o
  • £20 is my mobile bill, the £40 sky covers landline and all that jazz.
That spending is non-negotiable. I don't go out and I don't buy clothes so I spend that money to make it easy to not spend money if that makes sense:confused:

    Hi,

not sure it's a good idea to start out with idea of *anything* as 'non negotiable' -not the best mindset to make cutbacks!

However, soon you will have extra £150 a month. Throw it at debts as advised by snowball calculator.

What is your debt free date??
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.
  • Didn't mean to sound blunt but I work at least 55 hours every week, have 2-3 days off a month and that is the only money I spend on myself so get a bit defensive about it!!

Hi there, perhaps you can do the "Im going to cancel my skuy package" phone call, details on this site in numerous posts. Basically ring them and say you need to cancel and cut your costs. Depending how brave you are you will get money off your package. I did, admittedly £7.00 per month but I've read of others getting fantastic deals but they've gone right to the disconnection phone call. Sorry if your already aware but thought I'd offer a suggetion.

Do you have any former bank accounts or credit cards that you have been charged on for late payments, bounced payments etc in the last 6 years? If so get looking on https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk. If you start working on that now you could have a sizeable sum in your mitts in 2 months to throw at a balance!

*steps in quietly* if you work so many hours, it means that you can't be getting much use out of your Sky does it not so I would certainly think about phoning them and saying just that and perhaps getting it reduced :)

Ebay rules!!! Says she wot has just listed another 9 items :) Seriously though - any mobiles you have check selling price on e-bay and compare with some of the cashback for mobiles sites. Get started on cash back sites etc you can do these between jobs after all as they are not specific hours :)
ASK FOR PAYRISES :) If you don't ask you don't get!
    And good luck!
