Falcon Hotel - Northants

Hi

Has anyone been to this hotel at all?

We have a voucher from buyagift.co.uk for 2 nights and were thinking of going to this one as it is quite near Silverstone. (bought my partner a driving experience for Christmas)

It has quite good reviews on trip advisor, but not everyone puts recommendations on there!

Also, what else is there to do in the area? We are probably going to be going mid Feb (not Valentines!).

I live about 10 mins away from this place, so have never stayed there but from what friends have told me it's very nice. Also Castle Ashby itself is lovely if you like walking around the countryside!

Edit: It's about 40 mins from Silverstone though

Thanks for that. Its ok re the distance to Silverstone. We are there for 2 days so we have plenty of time and its a hell of a lot longer from home than it is from the hotel to travel!

Is the Sixfields pub anywhere near there too? I love the Hungry Horse chain of pubs!!

HI, I live Nearby and go over to The Falcon for dinner and drinks sometimes. Its a lovely lovely place, really friendly and pretty, the owner is fantastic!

Its about 20mins from Sixfields pub.

There is Whittlebury Hall which has a nice day spa and golf course if you enjoy that.
There is Stowe Landscaped Gardens which is nice for a walk but open at weekends.
There is Stoke Bruerne canal and museum.

I agree castle Ashby is lovely as is Canons Ashby. I hope you enjoy your visit to Silverstone. I live very close to it so dont always enjoy it cos of the traffic etc but my kids dad had a wonderful time there when he had a driving experience altho it gets very cold as open so wrap up warm!!!

thanks, its the third time we have been to silverstone, we have been to the free thing in July, which was amazingly hot, and the oh has had a driving experience before, which was in June I think.

we are hoping to go in about mid feb, weather permitting, so i'm sure it will be bl**dy freezing! I will pack the thermals!!
