I find the morrisons baby event better.

Last time asda did an event the same time as morrisons and morrisons were £2 a box cheaper for a 12 pack of pampers sensitive baby wipes. Asda were selling them for £9 a box of 12 were as morrisons were selling them for £7 a box.

Asda tend to only stock tommee tippee botles, sterilisers, breast pumps, bottle warmers.

The travel cots are cheap and flimsy - ok for occasional use, but no good for me as my kids refuse to sleep in a cot and prefer a travel cot with the soft sides. So i invested in a really good one and a decent mattress.

Highchars are ok too - their nothing special - they do their job.

Baby gates are also a good buy i think they charge £15 for a lindam gate.

    They have fireguards too.

They also usually have the johnsons baby box filled with johnson toiletries for £10 (or they did last time) but these sell out really quick, I dont know why as the box is a bit useless as it has no room to put nappies or wipes into it.
But at £10 its a bargain as the contents cost more if bought seperately.

They also have baby vests, baby grows, play mats etc in the event too.

As a previous poster siad, they always have some highchairs and car seats left right at the end of the event that then get reduced to half price.

A few things go quick like the bottles sterilisers and johnsons baby boxes, but if you want a highchair or car seat i'd hold off till nearer the end.

For my DD who is now 4 months old and was born weighing 7lb we went through 4 packs of size 1 nappies, 6 packs of size 2 nappies and are npw quite happy with size 3 nappies and should be in this size for a while yet i think. So bear this in mind if stocking up. You'd be better of stocking up on the size 2's & 3's.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

I think Boots still have the offer of 6 packs of pampers wipes for 3.66 and Tesco currently have the big box of nappies at £8

I'll be stocking up on baby grows at the Asda event!

For the person looking for a baby carrier, don't go for a structured on like a Bjorn. I'd def say try a Close carrier, it's all fabric but there is no knots involved. They are brill!

Pushchair wise (not that anyone has said they want one but still...) check out nursery value. They are the people who do petite star (zia is brill) and you can get reconditioned ones for £60!
If my words are missing letters then please excuse me....my keyboard is a tad dodgy!!
  • the Asda baby eveny IMO isn't really anything too spectacular...at least it isn't in our area, unless of course you are setting up for a new baby and need sterilisers etc..
if you're after nappies, Tesco DIRECT (not the grocery store) stock the MEGA value boxes of pampers and huggies, pampers are on at 2 for £28, so £14 a box, where boots sell the boxes for a penny shy of £19. i tend to stock up on these since finding them, and collect the points too.

Asda do the mega boxes of nappies for around £10-£12 during the baby event (I can't remember the exact price).
  • I prefer when Sainsburys do their 1/3 off all baby products includng nappies. Not had this offer in a while, so I expect one must be due soon! Can't wait, having 2 little girls I need to get stocked up!x
Wedding on hold until 2011. Mummy to DD1 3/2/6 DD2 5/10/7! Mortgaged to my eyeballs!

Don't assume that things left at the end of the sale will be reduced further - in our Asda they don't knock another penny off.

i was hoping sainsburys would start one in the next couple of weeks as well to compete with asda and morrisons
