BT line rental only

Hi

I need some advice regarding BT line rental. Currently, I am paying £15 odds for BT line rental and Unlimited Evening & Weekend calls. However, as I am with Sky and I get free unlimited evening & weekend calls with them, I'd just like to pay BT line rental only, £11.25 per month. I can't seem to find out any information on how to change to BT line rental only.

I notice BT are doing line rental and unlimited weekend calls for £11.25, however, I am worried that by changing to this package means I will override my Sky calls and therefore, I shall lose my free evening calls. Would this be the case?

Thanks for any help on this matter.

    Hi Kmmfc,

I can change your calling plan to ensure you're paying the basic line rental only as I understand that you have decided to make your calls through another service provider. You can email me directly at btcare@bt.com and I'll make the neccessary changes at your request. Please include your forum username in the email and also a link to this thread so that I can refer back to it.

Changing the calling plan will have no affect on your calls option which you have setup with your chosen provider.

I'll look forward to hearing from you soon.

    All the best,

BT Unlimited Weekend or Unlimited Weekend and Evening packages are both the same price (£11.54) per month, both include the line rental, the latter requires a 12m contract. If you are paying £15 then you are not using DD and paperless billing, which pushes the price up, regardless of who you take your calls with.
BT do not do any 'line rental only' packages, the price includes the calls.

If you you prefer Sky why not move your line rental to them £11 a month.

Yet another breach of Forum Rules reported to abuse.
Company Representatives now have PMs switched off

So you're aware, as part of a wider-ranging Forum Rules update, company representatives can no longer receive or send private messages.

Instead, we've asked them to ensure, where possible, that they're posting answers directly on the forum so that everyone can get the benefit rather than just one specific person.

Where people really do need to give them personal details in order to help sort out an issue company representatives can now include a specific help email address in their profile page and can direct people to their profile page from the forum (but not post the address in posts/threads).

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
