Bizz Energy debt

Hubby and I have small business premises, upon "moving in" we were bombarded with phone calls about our electricity contract, never having run a business before, we eventually gave in, after a month of daily phone calls and signed with Bizz Energy. Nightmare. Provided meter readings by email, phone, letter, automated service and their online form and not once in two years did we receive a bill relating to the reading. We received estimates of between £750 and £2000, we are a small corner shop! I paid them what I thought was right, approx £250 a month and now they have gone bust, Scottish Gas has taken over and my bills are about £250 a month. Worcester Debt Recovery, acting on behalf of Bizz Energy are now demanding over £6000, which I have disputed saying I was missold the contract, led to believe they were the cheapest, which they were not, bullied into signing up with relentless phone calls etc. I have asked for a copy of the contract, and records of my invoices and my payments.
Is that right? And what should I do next?

Their website and results from a quick Google look like they provide lots of info for you to follow up.
You will have a closing reading from the previous supplier and an opening reading from the new supplier so you know how many units you used. Does their unit charge tally with the final bill?
Next use the contacts on the Ofgem site to get some general advice. They seem to have gone bust over a year ago, when did you get the final demand?0 -
I don`t have an opening and closing reading although I did pay a final bill with Scottish Gas when Bizz took over and I`ve still got that so that will give me a reading. I contacted the DCA and explained I was disputing the amount and I wanted to see a copy of the contract, they said there was no paper contract but a verbal contract was agreed over the phone and they have no recording for this. They also said they can only hold it for 2wks and then proceed with recovery action. I admit I`m due them something but nowhere near this amount.
If Bizz had given me proper readings in the first place I wouldn`t have this problem. The DCA are effectively chasing me for estimated bills.0
