Having a really miserable few days, need to vent as I am about to cry! Its nothing serious and I don't know what im getting so worked up about but I just feel so gross :( I noticed some itchy red spots (looked like cigarette burns) on my shoulders and back on Sunday and they just kept on coming from no where, so i I went to the pharmacy and he said it looked like mosqito bites (i never react to them so I thought this was doubtful, but i followed his advise anyway) so he gave me some anti histamine (sp?) cream to put on them. So I kept putting the cream on, but they were still so itchy and were getting bigger. I went out for coffee last night and I was so uncomfortable so I went to a different pharmacy and showed the guy (sort of trainee dr) in the pharmacy and he looked at it and wouldn't give me anything as he said it looked like a fungal infection and I needed to go to the hospital to see a specialist (no such thing as a GP here!) The thought turned my stomach and I felt so sick (i am so sqeamish with skin diseases). So i came home and did a bit of googling and by the looks of things, symptoms and pictures i worked out it was probably ring worm, so I called my dad (he is a paramedic) via skype and he told me what I needed. So off I trot back to the pharmcy with a list of drugs I need. He gave me 2 types of tablets and some cammomile lotion. I took the first tablet 16 hours ago, so need to give it a bit more time before I start expecting results I think. Applying the cammomile lotion every hour or so to stop the itching. I just feel so horrible. There are a few coming up on my face as well that started yesterday, they are on my back, upper arms, boobs and legs, and its really difficult to cover them up as its still quite hot here. I should be going out tonight but I don't think I want to. This is when I really miss the UK. Having easily accessible trustworthy advice.

Has anyone else had experience of this?

Linda - Thats something I would do, I am useless at driving in the snow!

Awww chick thats pants....I have no experience of ring worm but just wanted to give you a :grouphug:

  • butternut squash is a good way to make money quickly to be able to plow more - the profit yield means you can double your ploughable land every 2 days when you're looking to get the farm going.

    I'm that sad :o

I plan far too much of my life around my farm, times to plant and when they'll be ready, planning ahead if I'm teaching, re-planting 4 hour stuff on a weekend a couple of times and then a 12 hour to get up to the next day.....cough......:o

I'll have to get a life when I've finished - I wonder what level it ends at

I'm doing much the same. Planning around meal breaks and getting up times. Was really worried about my pumpkins when i couldn't get in late last night and early this morning. I know they switched wilt off but .....

Think I might have to leave the heating on tonight...ho hum. I didn't leave it on last night, B was awake and came in freezing and when I got up the house was soooo cold. Then again when you're under the covers is it worth it?

Hello everyone. Sorry I am not in the greatest of spirits today.

Today I was sore from cycling yesterday (stupid health) so decided to take a train with me bike (so i could cycle home) - it takes me, in this weather, about 20 minutes to cycle to work on average. Train took 45.

Then someone decided that they wouldn't make room on the bike allowed path... as they do, so when I tried to go around them... they used their bag while saying "F**K off!" to push me onto the major busy road... luckily I didn't fall over (bless not changing the tires yet to smoother ones...) and made it work safely but as you can imagine - that didn't put me in a happy mood for the rest of the day.

Then the day was spent doing the most boring work of them all - so I feel I am given all the rubbish tasks at the moment... really hate how they changed my job.

Then on the way home it was cold, my flat is freezing cold and the heating isn't even making a dent in the temp of the house... missed TWO parcels while I was out today (which means going on Saturday, which means time spent with my OH who is brave enough to travel down will be lost collecting sodding parcels) and generally well - everything seems to be just P***ing me off.

On top of all of this because I was so P****d off today, i forgot to ring the cat people.

So I have had a cup of tea and a bacon sarnie for tea, and now sitting in my freezing flat feeling very grumpy and a little bit alone. OH is really busy with an assessment that needs to be handed in tomorrow, so trying to not call him or bother him so he can get going on with it because his uni is important but its not what I want to do right now.

sorry, just been one of those days. Breathe... and breathe... calm blue oceans...

and a warm :grouphug: for you.....
