Have you thought about making one for him?
My youngest brother has started uni this year and has not been as savvy as he needs to be when doing his own food shopping.
To help him think a bit more about ingrediants, what you can make and how you can make them stretch I raided my own receipe books and the internet to find some old favourites/ cheap and easy meal. Yo can tailor this to what ever you want i.e make a Pasta Sauce book etc. Once I'd made my selections I typed them into word, added tips and pictures and then laminated and put in an A5 binder. In doing this you can make this as easy or as complex as you like.
If you can get hold of a laminator and you have 'The Range' locally their laminating pouches are really cheap.
Hope this helps0 -
I suppose it's a bit late now as you've already ordered MOF (which is very good), but thought I'd mention the Usborne Beginner's Cookbook (sorry I can't do linkies
)- I bought a copy for teenage grandson last Christmas and his auntie like it so much i had to get one ofr her as well! Easy things to make, lots of step-by-step photos.
