Haven't heard of such of a thing. What is your situation. We were in a caravan 'linked' up to our tank whilst converting our barn. But it was in no way temporary.

Was the sceptic tank already installed here?
At present we have no sceptic tank and living in house we are doing up - which is not easy. We are looking into loans to do up property as sceptic tanks are a big investment too. we use a potty at present but not always easy.
where did you do up your barn in Cornwall? before coming to france we looked at a barn in Boscastle. probably a good thing we did not buy there as they had those terrrible storms a few months after and it washed out a lot of places in the village!

We had the tank installed. We then connected up to the caravan. All in all it was about £4K to buy/install. Boscastle is not that far away, we are between Bodmin and Launceston.

What is your long term drainage plan for the property? Is it not worth getting that sorted before anything else? Can you get any grants in France? I don't have any knowledge of building/converting over there, but wish you well.

Not heard of temporary ones, why not get the one sorted for your house & use that? My father was quoted about £4K for installing a tank & soakaways (in France) but it will depend on size of property.Certainly don't skimp, as it will cost more in the end. . There is some new EU ruling about them which seems likely to make it more expensive. I can't remember what, possibly they all need to be of a certain standard or size within next year or so.

Asked my dad to confirm costs for a new fosse. Apparently the environmental reports cost about £250, £3K to £4K for the tank & installation. As long as you keep the bacteria at the right level it may never need emptying, certainly very rarely. He said he's never met anyone that's needed theirs emptied. Make sure you use toilet paper & cleaner suitable for a fosse, it's very easily availble in places like Aldi.

At the risk of being pedantic, you are looking for a septic tank. A sceptic tank would be a large military vehicle full of people questioning everything they see... ;)
