Zooplus large bags and best before dates

Hi there
I just wanted to ask if anybody has ordered any of the really big 10kg+ bags of cat food (or dog food) from zooplus? It is just I have noticed a brilliant deal on Iams but I only have 2 cats. I just wanted to know what kind of best before dates are on them i.e a few months or a year? (I know they can all be different but just an in general). Sorry if it seems silly! Just don't want to get them to then waste them because it defeats the purpose! I can't think of anyone who would do a joint buy with me either!
Thanks in advance
Lee

Best before dates are going to be less important than how you store the food - do you have somewhere cool, dry and airtight you can keep 10kg once opened? Regardless of BB date the food will go stale if not stored correctly and we know how fussy kittys are .... :rolleyes:Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Best before is pretty loose term. Its the "use by" which is the one to watch for.0

The best before date will mainly apply to the vitamin levels, which will slowly start to drop (some quicker than others). The other thing that could be affected by time is any fats or oils which could go 'rancid/off' As Fire Fox says - storage conditions are more important - cool and dry and free from vermin. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Best before dates on dry food are normally long. As others have pointed out its how you store them when they are open. I use very big airtight containers that are stored in a cool place0

Well I have the space to store it but will have to get hold of some air tight containers. Any suggestions?
It's just because I could save 74.95 which is a huge saving on Iams. If my mums cats weren't so fussy I could share with her but they are fusspots. My other option is I could lose out on a tenner with just buying one 10KG which I suppose isn't too bad.
P.S I remembered the bit about vitamin levels from my animal care HNC and I would hate for my cats to lose out on anything vital so want to stick within the date. Thanks for all the advice!0 -
Most of the online pet food suppliers also sell storage bins.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
