Central Heating BTU question

Just had first quote today for full central heating install, but they just measured the biggest rads that would fit the spaces, i always thought they were meant to measure the room so they can calculate the amount of watts/btus required to heat the room?

Yes and theres more to it than just the size of the room as well. They are prolly working on the theory that the biggest most efficient rad they can fit won't give problems with you complaining that its cold later on. But they've increased their material price to you by doing it and deprived you of usable wallspace (I guess) in the process. Still the Q will do for comparison purposes I guess.

    Cheers

they should measure the room correctly ..how many outside walls ..windows etc etc ....fitting a rad that way to big is not very helpfull it will just make the room get to warm ..
