Heathrow Hotel

I am looking for a 5* hotel in heathrow for
the first night of a honeymoon. I need a late check-in
and a late check-out. Also would like a fruit basket,
champagne and breakfast.

Does anyone know what hotels do this and how to get a
good deal?

  • Can't help with the hotel, but in terms of your requirements of a fruit basket and champagne, I would suggest packing one with you. The prices these places charge for adding these to the package is ridiculous!

Radisson Edwardian is the only 5* in Heathrow area that I know of.

Not sure on rates - or where would be the best place. Is quite often booked up. You would need to contact hotel direct for late checkout and flowers etc.

Try laterooms, lastminute and lowcostbeds for starters - see the travel website sticky for more suggestions on hotel comparison sites. Travelrepublic might be a good place to start.

I stayed in The Marriott at Heathrow, which I thought was excellent but I think it may only be 4 star.

I booked via http://www.priceline.co.uk which allows you to name your own price, if you don't mind taking a gamble on what hotel you end up with. I stayed at The Marriott for only £42.00 for one night which was far cheaper than the nearby Travel Inn.

I work at Heathrow Airport, and believe that the Radisson Edwardian (which is located on Bath Road) is the only five star hotel on the airport. There's also the Hilton, ('only' 4* I think) which is on the other side of the airport near Terminal 4 and may be more convenient if you're travelling from T4.

[PS - for a real treat, why not charter a helicopter to take you and your other half to bring you to Heathrow? Ok, maybe not the best suggestion on a money-saving website... But if you want to know more, do PM me!]

The Crowne Plaza just off M4 Junction 4 is pretty good though I think only 4*. This is part of Holiday Inn group and if you join their Priority club (can do this online) you can get express check in and late check out (also free newspaper tho' I suspect this won't be needed), I think they also offer a free upgrade if they have availability but you would need to check this.

You will get a better price if your stay is Fri/Sat/Sun and at the moment rates on their site http://www.ichotels.com for next w'end are £68 inc breakfast or £102 inc breakfast for a deluxe room. Other days are £145 and £185.

Alternatively you can go to one of the airport parking agents and get hotel+parking or just hotel rates.

    Radisson Edwardian is also good.
