Hi.
We rented 5 DVDs from blockbuster for £5. The one my daughter really wanted to watch was nanny Mcphee. Got home and they had put in nannys diary.
Was a bit gutted , but we all make mistakes . I drove to Blockbuster didn't even get an apology. Still not that bothered.
Got home tried to watch Nanny Mcphee , guess what? DVD player could not recognise disc.
Looking at the disc it looks like it has done a four hour scratching session with Pete Tong!! No chance on earth it will work!
Now I'm a bit mad. Having a disappointed daughter twice in half an hour!
Still not to worry. then i look at the disc.
Blatantly in big red writting NOT FOR RENTAL.
Now i am mad.
Are Blockbuster taking the P1$$ ? Surely they cant make profit on a non rental product! or am i wrong?
Sorry for the rant. Cheers for reading...

If rental items have gone faulty or lost they transfer traded in films to rental ones.
It's quite bad you didn't get an apology for their first mistake! As for the second disc being damaged-if the previous customer doesn't report the disc as faulty they have no way of knowing. They rely on customers telling them the disc is faulty then they clean it on their own machine, and if it's reported faulty again it's sent off as damaged.0 -
Oops to answer your question properly. They do make profit on a non rental copy because it'l be one a customer has traded in. They only pay up to a few quid for trade ins. A few rents of that disc and they're making a profit.0
