Need to update CC on ebay but have already cancelled CC

My boyfriend paid all his debts off about 18 months ago and cancelled all his credit cards. Now ebay want him to update his credit card details on his account as the card he originally put on there would be expiring soon. But he can't as he no longer holds a credit card. All his ebay fees go straight out of his bank, not from his credit card. They only want it for verification purposes. So what can he do? He doesnt have a debit card either.

I'm pretty sure that if you are using an ISP based email address, ie not yahoo or hotmail, they don't need a credit card..... I just went into my account to see about this, and my credit card ran out in May...haven't got a new one and haven't been asked....yet.
You could try changing your email addy and then emailing themDFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!

What poppycracker said may well be true, but since you need a credit or debit card to set up a sellers account (I assume that's what we're talking about), I can see that they might require you to replace an expired one. I'm sorry, that's not much help, I know.
I found this her http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/account/account-problems.html
To continue listing items for sale, a valid credit card must be on file for your account, even if you are using another payment method for fees.

Thanks. I guess he will just have to let his ebay account go then?
