Need Help I am on Jobseekers and am Part-Time Studying at University!

This is my first week at University and I need help with costs for books. Where can I get help. I don't want to owe anyone money as I am in debt already but can't afford the price of my books on Jobseekers not even second hand.
Is there any charities or maybe local council that can help. I am 24 years old and on JSA and Housing Benefit.
Any Advice much appreciated.
Thanks!

Have you not applied for Student Finance?Gone ... or have I?0

Yes I have applyed for Student Finace threw my University but I have to wait at least 5-6 weeks for them to reply....but this does not include books etc. Only the course fee for my first year.0

The library is where most people will go for books. there is no need to buy them all but TBH you have no chance of anyone buying them for you unless you have a bizarre name and there is a trust fund somewhere set up for people with your unusual name.
Student loans and career development loans were designed for situations like this. The majority of people don't get through further and higher education without debt unless they are working a significant amount of hours.
When I was a student I had a student loan (that I am still paying off more than 10 years later) and worked 20hpw. Not getting into debt wasn't an option but it was worth it for the doors it opened. think about it as an investment. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
You should get a course grant as well as a fee grant. Until then, you will have to use the library.Gone ... or have I?0

Do I get a fee grant threw my university?0

You should get it through Student Finance!
Are you taking a degree? Why did you not sort this out before the start of your course?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Yes I am taking a degree. I didn't sort it out before the course because I only got accepted this year and started this year. You can't apply for anything unless your enroled. I have never been to university before and never been on JSA. I would normally be working and wouldn't need to be asking for help.0

You are incorrect, you can apply once you have your offer.
You need to sort out your Student Finance entitlement.Gone ... or have I?0 -
