Help from all you knowledgeable people plz

Hi son has come home from school and has to compile a list of crops which grow best in

A) acid soil and
B) alkaline soil

I know you experts on this forum will have more of a idea than I do so any help will be gratefully recieved

  • I have found that beets, brocolli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, legumes and turnips like alkaline soil (high ph).

    Blueberries grow well in acidic soil.....let me think
    Potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, peas, beans and onions will all grow in acidic soil

    for alkaline/chalky soils - meadow/wildflowers or warm climate plants ie., mediterraean - bay, rosemary, fennel etc.,
    and
    for acid soil - rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and heathers.these prefer damp shady woodland areas..
