My fiancee and myself want to go on holiday first two weeks of September.
We want sun and a beach and a decent standard of accommodation i.e. clean and safe, with minimum of a bed and a shower (not too fussy!).
Quite happy with self-catering, as long as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Not bothered about discos and clubs, but would like a few bars to choose from. Would rather have everything within walking distance, shops, beach etc. Don't mind culture and lack of other tourists!
The only place we have been together is Rhodes, so fancy somewhere different - maybe India, Thailand, Caribbean, safari even! Anywhere really as long as it is hot and sunny!
Budget up to about £800 each if all inclusive, less if self-catering or half board. Could probably push the boat out for somewhere special.
Anyone got any recommendations?
Anyone got any advice on where NOT to go at that time of year?
Anyone recommend a good website or travel agent?
Edit: should have added we want to fly from any London airport.

There are some very good deals for Cuba for September but bare in mind that area can be prone to storms even hurricans that time of year.
Sri Lanka would also be a good place with a mixture of beach and culture.
