Letting new f/f settle?

Does anyone know how long I should leave a new fridge freezer unplugged to settle in and warm up? Last time I rushed it I ended up with a very dodgy noisy machine so I do not want to do that again. I thought 24 hours...but the company I have bought from just said 4 hours.
What to do???

Well leave it for 24hrs and be safe. Everyone is happy.

24 hours was what I was told when a new fridge freezer was installed last year. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -

Err, the previous question was asking about ideas for disposal of said fridge freezer as I recall....but thanks for your reply.0 -
Well I can now answer this one myself ( after calling Samsung Customer care)
They recommend leaving the machine without plugging it in for 4 hours, then another 24 hours plugged in without putting any food inside. Interesting huh? So it looks as if I will have 2 fridge freezers blocking up my kitchen for the weekend!0 -
ive always used the 24 hrs guidline. over many yrs now.
you can probably cut that in half with no problems, but as with all these things, at your own risk.
rarely would you need to switch back on so soon anyways.
ps.
always try and transport them upright.Get some gorm.0 -

Well I hope the delivery company will keep it upright.
I did find it interesting that they recommended 2 stages ie unplugged for 4 hours then plugged in but empty for another 24.
I am sure most people just want new one delivered, old one taken away and a chance to stuff the new machine full of goodies!0
