Virgin (MBNA) Question

in Credit cards
I have recently got rid of all my cards (5 in total) except one which is a Virgin Card, it has still got 4 months of 0% interest to go on it, on balance transfers, I'm waiting to get a Halifax card which was approved last week, leaving me with only two cards.
My OH is also pruning her cards and we decided to transfer £2k onto my zero balance Virging card from one of her cards in order to take advantage of saving a few pounds.
Now after trying to arrange this transfer over the phone Virgin have refused, stating that the offer is no longer available to me because I had cleared the account.
This not a big problem as such, but I thought that I could avail myself of the offer for 9 months, but apparently not, is this usual.
Thanks in advance VW

Hmm.. I had a virgin card with about 4700 balance and switched over to the Amex BA deal.. that left my virgin cc with a zero balance.
They then offered me 9 month interest free at 35 quid cap on the BT fee, which i have stoozed into my egg savings. In short, I didnt have the same problem as you..0 -
CALL 0800 7831116 and say that you are looking to extend the zero percent if possible. The Reps are not being targetted at present on yield (apr%) so you should be able to tx a bit at a nice rate

At the end of my 0% with virgin I moved the balance and phoned to cancel the card. When I did I got put through to a lady that offered to extend the period.
I didn't as I'd already transfered, but I got the impression that Virgin can cut a deal if you fancy a bit of a haggle.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. Anyone can handle a bad girl. It's the good girls men should be warned against.-David Niven0
