Sky+ recovery failed

Hi wondering if anyone can help. We lost Sky this morning during heavy snow. Later on we switched it off for a bit and sky tv came back, but we have lost the sky+ facility. I rang Sky and they told me I needed to do a full system recovery but this means I will lose everything I have recorded onto the planner. I cant access the planner, so copying the stuff is not an option. Does anyone know how I can get sky+ back without losing everything? Thanks

Sounds like you will need to wait for the repeats. If you can't view the programmes now, then there is nothing to lose. Who knows, maybe the restore will keep the saved stuff ?0

Can we no longer access the hidden menu with the new EPG?There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

). See if it works now. If it doesn't, take the card out, give it a wipe with a tissue and stick it back in.

Thanks  ok we have done this but when we select to to do the planner rebuild it comes up with 'housekeeping please wait' . this shows for a few seconds and then it goes back to the menu. Any suggestion would be gratefully received :rotfl:0 -
When ours did the same thing we had to swop the box, no amount of tinkering with it would help.:pB&SC No. 298

Powering off and powering back on again cures many such Sky+ problems.Hi wondering if anyone can help. We lost Sky this morning during heavy snow. I had a similar snow related problem today and fixed it like this:
Make sure that the dish and LNB are free from snow.
Put the Sky+ box in standby with the remote or the front panel power button so that the power light is red and not green. If it refuses to go red just carry on anyway.
Pull out the mains plug from its socket, or switch the socket off if you have a switchable socket, and leave it unplugged for two or three minutes.
Replace the power plug and wait a few minutes while it boots back up again. With luck, all will be back to normal.
If that doesn’t work, repeat but this time leave it without power for ten minutes.
If that still doesn’t work you can usually recover your recorded programmes so don't resort to a full system reset yet. You need a computer running Windows, the free Copy+ software, and a spare disk drive or spare capacity on your computer disk.
If powering off and on again doesn’t work report back and I or someone else can summarise the Copy+ process.
Good luck.0
