Hi everyone, My friend's pc came with ms works already installed, however, I'm not too familiar with this as I've always used excel. Anyway, I was trying to give her a quick demo and noticed that there isn't a way you can create multiple worksheets within a spreadsheet. Is this right or am I doing something wrong? Any comments would be appreciated.

No, Works is very poor. If you want something that works like Excel and looks like Excel I'd suggest that your friend downloads Open Office.0

Thanks Grahawk foir your reply - I thought I may be missing something. You know what it's like trying to explain and then you get stuck!!! I'll suggest downloading open office. Pity as works would have been useful for her as I don't envisage she'll be using it that much.0

Other option is to buy MS Office. Not sure of cost now but a while back I got a copy for £60 which can be installed on up to 3 machines.0

@ lindabea
When you download OpenOffice you don't have to install the whole thing.
Just install the parts that you need - the word processor and the spreadsheet.

That's about the current cost - quite frankly, I don't think my friend can justify the cost as she won't be using it that much. I just thought that being able to set up multiple worksheets in 1 spreadsheet is a nice feature instead of cluttering her folder with different file names. I am very surprised it's not available in works.0

Works is rubbish. Came free with my laptop. Used it to write a document which I emailed to a friend who couldn't open it cos I hadn't saved it as rtf.
OpenOffice is the way to go.I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -
The reason it's not in works is to encourage you to buy Office!
OpenOffice is very good. Alternatively if your friend is a student or has a student or school pupil in the family they can buy Office at a discount from sofwtare4students.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

Thank you everyone for your replies. I've installed openoffice for her, so I will be demonstrating that to her. It's far better than works, and at least it cost her nothing.0
