wireless laser mouse wanted - help

Hi techie experts
I'm trying to buy a mouse for my little Samsung netbook. My IT helper who set it up for me said you can get a nifty little (Microsoft)mouse for it. I just hate using the mousepad..hate it hate it hate it.

Well I have Googled and Googled until I am all Googled out and still I can't find one for sale here in UK.

The closest I got was this one:

http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/9189508/Microsoft-Wireless-Laser-Mouse-6000-v2-0/Product.html

but they are out of stock

Anyone know where I might find one.
Thanks for any help.

Have no idea how I missed this website!

I can see quite a few Microsoft models all with similar features and as always when offered so much choice I get all dithery and confused.

Anyone able to give me a few pointers on what to look out for.
I only use netbook for browsing, emails and getting travel/maps info when out and about, so don't want anything too complicated.

    Thanks again for any help/advice.

Personally I'd stick with a wired mouse, it avoids having to mess around with batteries and charging. I can see the appeal of a cordless one with a laptop though.

Don't restrict your choice to Microsoft, other companies make good mice too. Personally I like Logitech ones.

Does your netbook have Bluetooth? If so something like this may suit.

Alternatively this one has a receiver to attach to your netbook.

Use the Logitech V470 Blue Wireless Bluetooth Laser Mouse with my Samsung NC10 netbook. Saves having to use a usb port, easy to install and works great. You can turn it off to save the batteries.

    Aha...
Thats the same netbook as I have.
So I don't have to plug a dongle thingy in with this one then?
And is it as good a a Microsoft one do you think?

Thanks to everyone for replies, I do really appreciate your help.

I got an Argos value one, £6.00. Every bit as good as the MS one
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

No dongle, it detects the onboard Bluetooth.

Dunno about the Microsoft mouse. I've used Logitech mice and keyboards.

  • This logitech one is good, has a tiny little nano receiver. My mum just leaves it plugged in all the time, and it also has an off switch on the bottom to save battery. Isn't a laser one tho, just optical. Tesco has them too, in various different colours if you want to co-ordinate :)

I hate PC World, they are over priced. But when buying a Mouse it's a good idea to pay them a visit. Not to buy, definitely not, but they normally have a few on display that you can feel and touch. And that's what you really want to do before buying.

I'm a technician by day and play games by night. Can't stand cabled mice and the tug on the cable is annoying. Logitec I know are suppose to be the best, but my expensive logitec mouse and keyboard are crap. If I'd had a chance to test them I would never have brought them. The mouse is uncomfortable in the hand and the keys on the keyboard stick when pushed down. Never did get around to getting a replacement.
