Sat nav advice

Hope this is the right place to post.

I've had a TomTom One for years now but am looking to get a new one as I find the maps to be completely out of date and the updates aren't any use either. Other than this I do like the TomTom software.

I'm looking for one with traffic updates (the tomtom traffic isn't compatible with my current mobile which is the HTC Touch Diamond but I'll be getting a new phone soon anyway); and reliable maps. I don't mind about the cost of the satnav but I'm not keen on paying the £6.99 per months for TomTom's live update service.

I've seen some people mentioning the navigon 4350 max which you can get from halfords with free premium traffic service - does anyone have any experience with this? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I have a Tom Tom Go730 and don't think the live update is worth the money. Can't understand why you say map updates are no good? They work well for me. Having said that the updates are expensive and yours is old you might be as well getting a new sat nav.

There are a number of sites offering free scamera site location updates.

thanks - I may just be unlucky with the maps. For example, there's a motorway near where I live in Glasgow which has never been added and it's been there for several years now. I did pay for the updates this year but it's not made any difference.
