Buying a Stolen/Recovered Car

Just browsing the net for a new car and seen a few which have been Stolen / Recovered. The ones I have looked at have no damage (that I'm aware of) with keys (both sets) with handbooks etc.

The car is a good few grand cheaper than others.

What are the pros/cons for a S/R?

I wouldnt have an issue with buying one, just make sure that it runs correctly.

The insurance may be slightly higher, or the company might not insure it, depending which company you use, eg Norwich Union Direct would not do it for me.

Are they being sold direct by the insurance company / salvage yard?

If its a third party, often these cars have had any damage repaired and may look nice and shiny from a distance...
