Pre paid credit card

Just want to ask which pre-paid credit card is the best.
Am about to buy Virgin pre paid credit card, which costs 10 pounds and 2.95% per transaction. Is it good compared to the rest.

Comments

  • depends how much you use - if you use it a lot you might be better off going for the fiver a month fee thus not paying out on transactions.

The FairFX Sterling card is free to buy and only charges 1.5% when you load it up.

Have you got an O2 mobile - even a pay as you go (you only have to top up £10 every 3 months to qualify)?

The O2 prepaid cards are completely free:
    - No purchase cost
    - No replacement cost
    - No load fees
    - No purchase fees
    - No ATM withdrawal fees (except if the machine charges you).
    - 2.75% foreign fee (can't really fault them for this).

Its a proper 'Visa Debit' too (with chip and PIN) - so you'll get Visa chargeback protection and it'll be accepted more freely than a Maestro or Visa Electron.

It is the best prepaid card available by far.
