Natwest refunded charges, now saying charges correct!

In 2007 Natwest refunded all my bank charges for two accounts totalling £1400.00. This was thanks to my following the advice on this site and getting the claim in relatively early.
I was therefore surprised to receive their standard letter this week stating amongst other things
'We do not believe that there is any other legal basis on which the level of these charges can be challenged....we are satisfied that the charges were properly charged and will not be refunding the unarranged overdraft charges you have complained about..'
I am not concerned that they will try and get their refund back, just shocked at their incompetence in sending me the letter! Tempted to write a sarcastic letter back....

Hi
Please don't worry. They will not ask for the refund back.
Did you perhaps have another claim in with them or submitted a claim through their complaints system or on the phone?
If you are sure you are not due any further reclaim, simply disregard the letter. It's not worth the hassle of pointing out their mistake as they simply don't care what mistakes they make or the impact they have. Banks can be very incompetent. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.
You come here for advice, help and support- thats what I and like minded others will try to do.0
