Seems a pretty good price tbh.

I personally would adapt my driving and keep driving it for a bit. Could run for a while with the clutch slipping before it goes completely.

Are you sure you hadn't just hit a patch of ice?

Mr Clutch is a well known national chain ... but most of the garages are independantly operated under franchise. So if one is good, the next could be awful.

I used one a few years back and it was great, but went back a couple of years later to the same branch and the place had changed hands and were ripping customers off.

e.g. tried to charge me £380 for work I considered would possibly cost £50. They wouldn't discuss the quote, it was take it or leave it. I left it and a separate garage did the job for 20 notes (ok so no paperwork, but hey! )

Point is, even if one branch of Mr Clutch was good/bad, it may not be the same today.
