we have been trying to get some charges refunded on financial hardhsip grounds last year, but Lloyds refused point blank to issue any refund, depsite agreeing we are in hardship.
I have just chased them up at their Andover Customer Service Recovery centre. I spoke to someone called Sam who advised that lloyds are currently discussing with the OFT what to do with all claims for refunds, and that we would be written to by the end of next week. she said they can't do anything while these talks with the OFT are ongoing, which she said are unrelated to the test case. I asked her if she was hinting that meant some charges may be refunded, and she replied by saying she couldn't possibly comment. i know it sounds daft, but if the answer was no surley she would have said no, and the way she said she couldn't comment sounded like a positive tone of voice, so hoepfully, maybe, just maybe that means somehting will be happening

I think 'Sam' is just spinning you a tail. A lowly bank worker would simply not be privy to the nature of any discussions between the OFT & Lloyds, let alone tell a customer about them.0

Have to say I agree entirely with Alpine.
However, please keep us posted on developments as information could be invaluable. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.
You come here for advice, help and support- thats what I and like minded others will try to do.0 -
When I worked for Lloyds the staff were always the last to know and usually the least well informed.
The no comment response or cannot say response is very common with people in complaints and compliance in areas where they do not want to go on record.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
