Returning items to HK sellers.

Hi,

Purchased 3 phones from my private ebay account, all 3 were BIN fro a HK business seller (total about £110), they are all “New Motorola U9” phones, the turned up yesterday and the don’t look new but refurbished, Also the on the back of them say “Orange” 2 instructions books are missing and the worst thing…All have Asian keypads L
I emailed the seller with the problems and he gave me an address to return them to, im happy to return them but unsure of a couple of bits.

Should I just send them back to the address he provided recorded, Or should I open a SNAD on PayPal to cover my own back?
I know the return postage will be a bit pricey, will I have to pay this or will I get it back?

Thanks in advance.

Open the SNAD, you'll have to send them back either way, so the sooner you get Paypal involved the better.

You won't get your return P+P back unless the seller's feeling generous, Paypal can only give back what you paid out in the first place.
Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Just remember to keep your fingers crossed as well that items track back to delivery with seller. Phones are not insured with Royal mail if going overseas and worth more than £39. All airmail including tracked (airsure and International) only cover up to £39, and personally since you wouldn't be insured anyway I wouldn't bother paying for additional insurance.

If these are going back to HK then UK postage options don't apply. Special and recorded are UK only.

A courier may well be better if they can offer insurance and a guaranteed signature on delivery.
