DIY holidays - anything I've forgotten?

Due to ridiculous prices being quoted by travel agents, I decided to go the DIY route and book out holidays all seperately for the first time and wondered if I'd missed anything.

Flights booked with Ryanair
Transfers with shuttledirect.com
Hotel booked with med hotels
Airport parking sorted
Travel insurance done
and even the EHIC (E1-11) thingy applied fpr and recieved cards.

Is there anything else I've missed?

TIA

A couple of things. If you intend to use any credit or debit cards while on holiday it's a good idea to inform the issuing companies about this. Otherwise you might find your cards have been blocked for "unusual activities".

If you are taking your mobile, put all the emergency telephone numbers for your travel insurance and credit-card companies into its phone book, as a back-up if you lose your cards or insurance documents.

email yourself copies of all your documnets (passport number, insurance details E111 NUMBER, CC contact details, bank contact details) that way if any get lost you can access them via internet cafe.
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

Hope you paid by Credit card. Remember if you book DIY then you can sometimes find you are not ATOL protected, so don't have any comeback should things go wrong. If you paid by credit card at least you have some protection.

    Thanks for the replies guys.
Actually paid by debit card ( they seem to charge a few % extra for credit card payments).
Never crossed my mind about being covered by Atol, surely a remote possibility though? Hope so!

Normally a DIY holiday will not be covered by ABTA or ATOL but as long as you have your travel insurance and your new E111 cards you should be OK.

If there's time, try getting a Nationwide credit card for fee-free spending whilst abroad.
