Besides easyroommate.com can anyone recommend a decent website for advertising a spare room i have in my house.

Don't know of any web-sites, but why not try the local rag (my brother quickly got a lodger this way). If you have a college nearby, then let them know that you have a room available, as many students will be looking for accomodation over the next couple of months.0
