tier 1 online have some dirt cheap refurb pcs available with prices starting at £49 if you dont need a monitor

I'm not sure which part of "£300 is too expensive" is too difficult for some 'contributors' to understand.

Anyway, if you re-use your old monitor, you can pair it with this FUJITSU SIEMENS Amilo Pi3410 for £212 from Argos Returns. Slightly cheaper is the FUJITSU SIEMENS Amilo Li3410 at £200.

Spending the extra £12 will allow you to upgrade the graphics card later should you ever wish to do such a thing. You might do.

Will cover all of your basic needs.

If you fancy being brave, buy a motherboard upgrade kit. I paid £170 for a new
Power Supply, Graphics Card and Motherboard which came with 2GB Ram and Dual Core CPU

All you do is fit the equipment yourself which isn't rocket science to be honest.

Look at Big pockets, they have a refurb Fujitsu for under £100 for a full system.

Not the latest and greatest but will work fine for most stuff. If you r monitors OK they so systems from £60, again older refurbs but will do surfing/ email / office work with no problems.
