don't know what to do with it... only worth 50p each or somthing.. amount is too small to get it converted to ££
any ideas please?
I have about eight dollars and a stack of quarters
I'm in central London, do any stores take US money?

Not to my knowledge. I'd either keep them for another trip or give them to charity. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

You can exchange the notes commission free at any Post Office branch. You can check the exchange rate on the Post Office website - today you would get £4.08 for $8.0

You can buy yourself a coffee at the airports. I think that some of the other shops at the airports take them too. (I have bought things in the Body Shop using them) I think that the gatwick express take them and it would be worth asking in the main stations i.e. Victoria. A nice thing to do would be to give them to someone you know that is going to the US.
If you do travel to other places it is always useful to have them for tips. When you are in countries like India or Latin American countries people like to receive hard currency. Even the coins might be useful. For example in Cuba you are expected to leave coins every time you use the toilet and I don't think that they are adverse to US coins even though the dollar is not officially used in Cuba.24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)
