EXTREME WHITE - Teeth Whitening Scam

My father was a victim of this free risk trial scam.

I am contacting the company relating to unauthorised charges on father mastercard used to sign up for a free trial.

The free trial means that if goods are not returned within a 14 day timescale (this does not allow you to use theproduct timely before returning the goods if not satisfied).
If the free trial that costss 3.99 is not returned to the company - then you are enroled in an automatic ship programme and your intial trial package is charged at full cost of £58.98. every 26 days after you are automatically shipped their so called maintenance shipment until you decide to cancel the goods.

Most people do not realise they have been enroled and then have to make contact to try to stop further monies from credit card being made.

I am in contact currently - as I am obliged to return the UNUSED packages to Extreme White. thus costing me postage charges for recorded delivery.

Initially , the trial shipement was charged at 3.99 by E.W TEETH.COM (New York) in early November then a new charge appeared in late November on my statement showing a charge from a company named Dermalyze or Dermalyse which was the cost for full package which was the initial trial shipment not having been returned.

Then a further charge from EW-Teeth.com for 59.99 for a maintenance package shipped automatically after 26 days. I have been in contact with the company by email since the 2nd January on my father behalf. I have now received confirmation the programme has been cancelled as of 3/1/2010. and upon safe receipt of the shipments by them (return address : clacton on sea) we shall obtain a refund/s for the monies taken. I have also notified by card issuer who is also liasing on our behalf.
Lloyds TSB M.Card have been very helpful - they are issuing documentation to file the report to us - and we are obliged to return our correspondence relating to this from Extreme White and us.

Pls do not be taken in by this scam *********** These companies are unscroupulous and nasty.

If something sounds too good to be true then it Probably IS

Sorry but your advise is flawed.

Section 75 lol the amounts in question are under £100 so this is not a route you are going to go down. If you take up this route you are just going to act like a fool.

Contact your bank provide them in writing the date you first attempted to contact the merchant to cancel, regardless of wether you got thru to them or not.
The can then "chargeback" any further debits on your account after this cancellation date.
Also I would go thru the debits on your account to make sure prior to your cancellation date you have all the goods you have been billed for. If not the bank can chargeback the amounts as Goods not recieved"

Just because you have been silly enough not to go thru the conditions of the trial offer Doesnt mean you are instantly going to get all your cash back.

I think all banks are aware of how these guys operate and I know were i work we do anything/everything we can to get as much money back where possible.

    All the best mate.
