MSE best buy? 1% on 50k is quite a difference!
I'm sure it does and if you're prepared to risk it then,as I've said good luck.
Remember the fuss with Icesave ? , course you do.
I wonder if anything ,should happen with the reputable bank of Punjab if the govt would be quite so quick to step forward.
You pays you're money.............Enjoy you're extra 1%Space available for rent0 -
I have a lump sum that I would like to store away for a while. 4% seems pretty good for 12 months and it's fully protected by the FSCS. This is the lump sum I had in Icesave. I don't see any problem as long as they're covered.0

Then vote in a new government. Its not the Icesave saver's fault that the FSA allowed them to operate in the UK without proper checks.
If people on this site were concerned about the taxpayer getting good value then they wouldn't try to reclaim bank charges, reducing the taxable profits of the banks.
The 4% is 100% protected up to 50k, and just because you've not heard of a bank doesn't automatically make it a risk. I'm sure very few knew of Ruffler Bank, and many still don't know that Julian hodge is legit!0 -

I would if I could, have been waiting since 2007  - having only had urge to vote for first time in a general election from then on. Surprising really - years ago this sort of thing would be headline news all over the news.
The 4% deal for 1 year I agree is pretty darn good (in present market). Only last week I signed up with Firstsave to stick 10k away for mere 3.65% (12 months) ... grrr.0 -
I think I would have more concerns about the Nigerians than the Punjabis - something to do with all those nice invites I get offering to give me money for the use of my bank account :rolleyes:The 4% deal for 1 year I agree is pretty darn good (in present market).
