Clock on PC keeps changing time!

Hi

Does anyone have any idea why my clock on my pc keeps losing time, currently its running about 15 mins behind:confused:

I change it daily to the correct time and within a couple of hours its dropped back again, this has only started happening in the last couple of days before that it was fine!

The CMOS battery should be used only to maintain the PC clock when the PC is powered off... Change it anyway, as previously suggested, but if that doesn't fix it then your motherboard may be at fault.
  • Both your suggestions of the CMOS battery does seem to be right as when I finish with my pc I do power it off completely instead of leaving in standby.

Thanks for your help, now I know what that battery is for when I had the case off the tower recently:)
