looking for a cheap stay in central london- possible?

Hi

After recently buying the merlin annual pass I want to make the most of it and visit london for 2 nights anytime from March onwards.

It would be for me and dh. I would like to go on a friday until sunday so that it will fit in with getting the kids looked after.

I'm just wondering if there are any good hotel offers at the moment. I have used the 2 for 1 promo on holiday inn to stop at shepperton HI in June to visit legoland etc.
Am i better looking at HI's again and if so which ones?

We will be getting the megabus to victoria and visiting london eye, tussauds and the dungeons.

I know there's a travel lodge sale on thurs but what will the availablity be like for central london and will they be £9 still?

would love to win something 'proper'!!

Have you checked the Easy Hotel too? The Earl's Court one is on a tube line from Victoria. :) Haven't stayed there myself but a friend has.

Edit - just had a look and saw there's now one in Victoria and South Ken!

    Hi
I booked travel lodge at Kings Cross for 2 nights (family room) 20/21st Dec. I got this for £38 for the two nights in their sale. You have to be quick but £38 for central London is about as cheap as it gets! hotel was OK. A bit worn around the edges but great location ,easy access to tube and only a few stops from all main attractions.
I will certainly be booking again.
Good luck and enjoy your trip:beer:
  • Travelodge are starting their £9 summer sale tomorrow so you might find something if you're quick. there are quite few in London... Good luck and enjoy!

edit: ooops should have read your post fully... you already know.. it is possible to get some rooms at £9 but as said you need to be quick and prob avoid bank hols w/e...

If you just want a room to get your head down then I recommend EasyHotel, I stayed at the Kensington hotel which is very convenient for the Museums.

You get a bed, shower, toilet and sink and maybe even a window if you are lucky! and it is all clean.

I would stay there again but the girlfriend was not impressed even though the price we paid meant we could stay in London for 2 days instead of just one.
