Rotten refund for rotten meat!

Yesterdays roast lamb leg joint was off so I returned it to Mr T's. Sure, I got a refund but it was given with no goodwill or apology. When I lightheartedly asked if there was a refund for the wasted vegetable it was supposed to be served with I got an off hand 'nope!'
I'll be off to ASDA with their refund and replace from now on!
(Sorry if this is the wrong place for this post)

Yeah Tesco's have never offered compensation for off products, but at least you can take it back if there's a problem.
ASDA arn't perfect either - their 200% refund can be hard fought sometimes and I have been refused in the past - good luckThere is no need to run outside

A few months back I had a leg of lamb 'off' and that was a Tesco one as well. They called the butchery manager after they gave me my refund and he gave me a couple of hot cooked chicken for my dinner.
I've got mouldy bread to go back today that doesn't go out of date until tomorrow :-(

Over the last three weeks I've had to bring one or two items back for going off before their sell-by date.
At Tesco, I bought two chickens in their 2 for £5 offer and one went off two days later and three days before sell-by date.
At Asda, chicken breasts went off the day before the sell-by date.
Also had Asda milk go off as well days before the due date. The fridge is working fine as when i shop at Sainsburys the chickens and milk seem to be fine. OP is right, they rarely apologise, never offer anything for inconvenience (travelling, not having a meal to eat, etc).
I wonder if the price cutting between the two big boys is starting to hurt them and they're buying shorter dated food stuffs at lower prices to keep their margins up?.
i think next time I get a duff chicken I'll go to trading standards and ask them to look into it (not the chicken itself, the fact that it's off!) - as I bet that up and down the country tons of the stuffs being returned but as people just throw it away or take it back for a refund, the shops can keep a lid on things.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Go tot rading standards!
A practice that no one speaks of but everybody knows about in the Supermarket industry, and especially the butchery department, is "repacking".
The meat is already gone on it s sell-by-date, it still looks ok so they bring it back in the store and change the dates on the stickers. A lot less waste, and people dont necessarily complain all the time, so lots of goodie praises at the end of the year and a big bonus for the head butcher. However, those practices are often uncovered, not because of customer's complaints but because trading standards investigate the books: "mmm your waste is way too low, how do you manage to achieve this?"..."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye

I have had to return several pieces of meat to mr T. It's so annoying when you have planned the dinner and find its off!
I have found M+S the best. Off chicked returned. Refunded in full and asked to choose another for free. Could not apologise enough to me. Thats how it should be for sub standard produce.0 -
Blimey, i've never taken back any meat being rotten.
I wonder if i've just been lucky or just haven't noticed? :eek:0 -
There was one joint of meat that seemed a bit rancid and pongey, but once i'd picked the maggots off it it was fine.0

I can tell you for sure this doesn't happen at Waitrose. All meat past the use by date goes into a special red animal waste bin which is collected by a contractor and incinerated, in compliance with the law.0 -
