I doubt she has the right to reject the car. Yes, she has a right to a repair or to have repairs paid for. But rejection? I doubt it.

I would actually try for rejection on this one.

A 25k 3 year old astra with a knackered gearbox suggests it is majorly flawed.

Whats the worst that happens. the rejection isnt upheld and they get a repair later.

OP if you do go down the grounds of rejection make sure its airtight in legal terms otherwise you could end up with massive bills for storage etc.

We could go really extreme on this

"I bought a second hand car 4 years ago and now it needs a new gearbox, tyres, exhaust and oil filter, Can I reject it under the SoGA?"

Seem to recall a case where a new car could not be rejected after 30 days use despite the fact that there were fundamental issues with it.

    The answer would be no.

This is less than 3 months though and a complete new gearbox (i.e major) on a low mileage new(ish) car.

£10K for an 06 Astra is a HELL OF ALOT to pay.
I would expect a 58 plate to be that price.
