Posting items to Eastern Europe?

Dear All,

Firstly thanks for all the great advice on this forum. I have just started selling a few things from around the house and these comments have definitely made me think twice about item descriptions and postage charges.

Whenever I advertise clothes or shoes, I seem to get loads of messages asking me to send to various European destinations. Sometimes these are places that aren't too surprising, like Ireland, Italy or Spain (although why someone in Spain wants to buy my Zara clothes I don't know!!), but sometimes they just seem very odd. I have been asked to post items to Azerbaijan twice, also to Serbia. At the moment I steer well clear and occasionally agree to post to Ireland or Spain, but am I missing out and do other people routinely post to Eastern Europe with no problems?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Sarah

Must admit I avoid eastern europe as some countries postal systems aren't the most reliable. A lot of sellers do sell to some of those countries with few problems. I would avoid tech goods though
  • Thanks Elaine and Bob for the helpful replies. My items are hardly high value so I'll give it a go next time!

  • My daughter tells me that Italy gives her more trouble than anywhere else if that helps you.
  • Thank you - will steer clear of Italy!

This happens to me all the time! I sell all my daughter's Next clothes when she outgrows them and I'm surprised if one buyer is from the UK!

I've sent things all over the place and my main problem hotspots have been Ireland and Norfolk! I don't think you can odds it really. I wouldn't send a £400 phone to Nigeria though...

I've never had a problem with any European buyers. Have had a few with Americans though, so I block them - ha. Makes me feel a whole lot better!:j
