National Rail Enquiries Website - Bonkers!

I've just put in a query on the site to travel from Lincoln to Cardiff, knowing the route I have taken before, which is via Nottingham and direct.
What it gives me is a route via LONDON KINGS CROSS to LONDON PADDINGTON!
Is that site designed to maximise unnecessary travel (hence more cash) or what?

Default setting is the quickest route rather than the simplest route. On that day at that time going via London may be the fastest route0

Hello
Take a look at www.raileasy.co.uk for a quote and route info.
They seem to do the route you want via Nottingham.0 -

use Railuneasy for quotes and route info but best not to buy from them as they charge a cheeky booking fees
You will get the same quotes and routes from a Train Company ie Xcountry or East Midland trains or East Coast Trains and no booking feesWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

In any case Raileasy costs money to use so book tickets via https://www.eastcoast.co.uk0
