AST help needed

I wondered if someone might be able to help?
I have a property I rent out.
The tenants moved in on 20th May and signed an 6 month AST, rent to be paid 20th of each month.
They now want to change the date to the 30th of each month. They have agreed to pay one month plus 10days this month, but is it legal to give them a new AST or what should I do?
(They want to change the date as they say they get paid on 28th of each month)
Any help please?

You could just do a new AST, with the amended dates commencing from the original date, IYSWIM.
This should meet everyone's requirements.
