Fault Item From America?

I bought a pair of gloves from an American company at the beginning of Dec. I had to chase them mid Dec for dispatch and they have finally arrived today.

However, the thread is pulled from one of the fingers and it looks like it will just continue to unravel (made of thick wool type material). I've emailed them to ask if they know how i can fix it or whether I can return them.

My question is, seeing as the item is faulty do I still have to pay for the return postage or can I ask them to reimburse me? Obviously recorded delivery to America will be expensive and the gloves costs $27 inc. postage in the first place.

You expect a predominately UK based user forum to know US laws?

What do their T&C's say? I would just go by that.

US law will still apply though, otherwise no company would ever trade overseas unless they have a HQ in said country as the legalities would be overbearing. Ie they would have to train all staff to know US, UK, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand, Japanese, French etc etc etc law for t&C's to encompass all of them which will be neigh on impossible.

Again, follow their T&C's as i assume if they are reputable they will be equal or better than your rights in the US.
