PPI & the unticked box

Hi, I'm new to the site and have a query about PPI Insurance. We took a loan out in 2007 with Picture and thought the PPI would be a good idea, although it wasn't explained properly to us and we went into it quite naively.
With all the publicity about PPI, I decided to dig out our paperwork and on the PPI section where it says 'please tick this box if you want to buy this product', we haven't ticked it. We have signed underneath it but the box has been left blank. At no stage have Picture asked us to tick the box or queried us on it.
I was just wondering how relevant anyone else thinks this is and whether we would have a good case to tackle them on it.
How important is an unticked box??
Any thoughts/opinions would be gratefully received

Hello and welcome.;)
Just to ask, are you aware that if you have a claim through Picture you should contact the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS) as they are no longer active and claims are being made through these.
Picture are already in default so it will be a case of you requesting for a claim form from the FSCS, where you also complete this with your details of the PPI, and enclose copies of any paperwork docs you have.
http://www.fscs.org.uk/contacts/
You will also note a thread about these above as well.;)
However, if you used a broker you pursue through them, details and guidelines of reclaiming here:

And please ask for help anytime.
Otherwise please feel free to post on the link here in regards of companies in default.

Hope this helps.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi all, when you say Picture are in "Default" what exactly does this mean???
I am currently claiming my PPI from them due to redundancy through The Warranty Group- wasnt easy to start the ball rolling with them to get them to start paying out but with all the bad press as of late regarding PPI. I am so glad I had it in place.
Obviously I cant right my loan off with Picture because of this "Default" situation surely?
Any comments appreciated0 -
Hi Dave
Read this link here, maybe this will give you some idea.

Thanks Di.
Put briefly, Picture cannot honour future claims on PPI from the date they were declared in "Default". Is this right?

Hi Dave your welcome
Yes that is right, but if you do have a claim, then do this through the FSCS, you will find many in the same situation on this thread here:

I would give the FSCS a ring and see what they have to say in your personal circumstances.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
