water damage passport

im travelling to Crete in May i have a passport and it has 6 years left on it
however, down the bottom its gotten water damaged from rain.
it is only about a inch think but is it still classed as damaged wud i have to
renew it? u can still read it all clearly and the rest of the photo is fine it
just goes over the one eye a little bit.
u can see it hasnt been defaced on purpose and the code can still be read
all the laminate is in tact, i jsut dont know if i shud renew it?

This is a very tough call. As an airline employee I would say the one thing almost guaranteed to cause you issues is if the laminate has come away from the page itself. If the laminate is fine then it shouldn't be an issue so long as the picture isn't compromised and the machine readable info at the bottom of the page is clear.

All this said, a lot will be down the opinion of the staff checking you in. If the airline isn't happy with your passport, you'll be stuck.
