PPI Claim Firstplus

I have just received my final response from Firstplus in connection with a missold PPI policy they have rejected it and hightlighted a few points as to why it was rejected and totally skirting around the main issue which was the fact that you are still paying after the initial 5 year period plus the interest charges.
I also found that the telephone conversation they had based their decision on was one that they had never forwarded to me when i payed and requested copies of them.
Has anyone else had this problem, I have telephoned them to say that I want to appeal anyone know whats likely to happen next.
Many thanks in advance

Hi Amanda, sorry to hear of your issues with Firstplus and their final response dismissing your complaint.Amanda1880 wrote: »I have just received my final response from Firstplus in connection with a missold PPI policy they have rejected it and hightlighted a few points as to why it was rejected and totally skirting around the main issue which was the fact that you are still paying after the initial 5 year period plus the interest charges.

I would now get your complaint into the fos if they have finished responding to you BUT in the meantime if you did request a SAR from them and they did not send you the CD or tape of the phone calls I would certainly write back over this matter and say you will make a complaint to the ICO over it and also say you are now taking your complaint to the Ombudsman. It may change their minds. Can i just ask, when was your loan taken out with them?
Good luck0 -
Hi
Thanks Marshallka for your speedy reply.
Firstplus did indeed send me a copy of the telephones calls however, the one in question that they have apparently based their decision on has not been sent to me, bit suspect if you ask me I have now phoned them and explained this to them to which they said we must have made a typing error so 31/10/2005 can easily be mistaken for 13/11/2005 can it ha ha.
Anyway in answer to your question the loan was taken out on 13/11/2005.
Many thanks again0 -
Oh their excuses are getting worse:rolleyes:. At least it was taken out in at a time when they were under the jurisdiction of FOS so that is good.Amanda1880 wrote: »Hi

I would now just get the complaint into FOS and you have to remember although it may take time to resolve (FOS are very busy) 99% of complaints against FP are being upheld by FOS so that gives you an excellent chance of winning.
