Please feed the birds this winter, they are relying on us!
I SO agree. :T
My favourites are the Goldfinch
and the Nuthatch
I used to work with a bloke who was a serious "twitcher", who I thought was a "Nutter". But it persuaded me to look at some birds in my back garden. I bought some feeders and a couple of books on the subject and I was amazed at how many different species come by!
My best arrivals were a Kestrel and a Heron (I don't have a pond, but my unpleasant neighbour does!)
Go on, compers, give it a try if you can, you might be pleasantly surprised!0 -
My oh is a twitcher I like the robins the best
we got 6 feeders 2 bird baths,
Please everyone dont forget to feed the birds, cant be having blue tits getting cold in this weather0 -

For you vwc xxx...
He's saying... 'Please feed me and my birdie friends especially during this very bad weather! and keep our water dishes free from ice'................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -
Our feathered friends around here are an ungrateful bunch lol.
We've got three feeders hanging off our whirligig clothes line - untouched.
We've got two feeders hanging in our trees - untouched.
And another feeder hanging from a currently unused hanging basket bracket just outside the kitchen window - again, apparently unused!!
Apart from one pigeon and two magpies, along with seagulls (seagulls!!! we're nowhere near the flipping sea lol) we hardly see any birdlife at all.
Although DH did come in the other day and said he'd seen a Red Kite above the house.0 -
I've got about 12 different species of birds that come to my garden.
Ranging from the the little Robins & Blue tits to huge great Seagulls & Magpies
The food is always eaten!
Please do feed the poor little birds in this weather particularly.0 -
Love the great pictures all of you.I won a great bird feeder this year which I'll try to keep topped up.
I'm not sure about the hotlinked images though. They might be better hosted on a site such as photobucket.

We tend to self moderate if that makes any sense.:D.The small BG team help us all out a great deal but can't be everywhere on here.
I'd say this is a very friendly forum & don't feel that I was rude to any member.
The point I was trying to make was that MSE admin do not want us to post hotlinked images on here. The owners/hosters of that image may have bandwidth issues plus what is to stop them altering the image to something unsuitable for here.
There are few rules on here but not posting hotlinked images seems to be one of them.I'd rather that the comp section remains & thrives so I'd prefer that we abide by MSE admins wishes. Some members may inadvertently post hotlinked images and I cannot see the harm in posting what I have.
If you wish to clarify this please feel free to pm me or MSE admin.Cheers:D0 -
Hi,I'd rather chat was kept to pm type chat but seeming as you asked I'm not a moderator,as MSE Forums do not have such a thing.
