Hi All, i have tried to find a thread and not been successful . I think I have the right name - potato cakey leftover things.:j:A
But I have no idea how to make them.
I have
Some frozen herbs - parsley , rosemary, basil and a couple of others i can check.
200g mashed potato
100g turkey
100g chicken
the end of a sad cabbage
a swede (small)
a parsnip
2 red onions
red chillis
red pepper
eggs
no breadcrumbs although i can make some from fresh wheaten? or i h ave frozen ciabatta or nan
soy sauce
mustards
strong cheddar , some out of date parmesan
usual cooking equipment.
All flours and loads of herbs and spices. So how do i make the above into some fried magic snack? Have i got the name right or wrong?
:rotfl:
Thanks in advance :j
I also have really thick luxurious cream, with brandy and courvevevevevev something or other in it. Needs using but not sure if you would use in this?

Hi zippy,
Rissoles are something I've never made although my sister loves them and makes often makes them. These threads have recipes and links that may help:
Rissoles
Fritters, rissoles and bubble and squeak
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the suggestions together.

What I do is mince the meats or use nuts for veggies (about 225g)
add 1 minced onion, herbs, chillies, salt pepper (any herbs, spices etc) about 1 tsp tom puree or ketchup and about 50g of breadcrumbs (but I have also used biscuits and nan ) I might add 1 egg depending on how dry the mix feels and I do sometimes roll them in flour before frying.
I mix the whole lot together and fry and serve with a home made tomato sauce and something like potato cake (which is just cold mashed spud with fried onion and make into cakes and either grill or shallow fry) though really anything goes with it really as you can change the flavour to reflect your mood..Basil is good if you want it to go with pasta etc
